Dispatcher

ARCP is a large heavy civil construction contractor based in Dartmouth, NS. We are looking for a Dispatcher to join our team and play a key role in transportation related activities. The successful hire will possess exceptional communication skills & keen attention to detail to ensure transportation operations run effectively.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education.
• Valid NS driver’s license.
• Highly organized, reliable & punctual.
• Able to multitask and work collaboratively.
• Flexible availability needed for occasional weekend & evening work as required.
• Strong written and oral communication as well as an aptitude for technology.

Responsibilities

• Daily Dispatch of ARCP trucks and broker trucks.
• Moving Equipment /Attachments / Materials under direction of the Fleet Manager.
• Finding and scheduling broker trucks.
• Gather and maintain broker information records in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
• Auditing Drivers time sheets and hours of service.
• Check daily pre-trip inspections and report back to the Fleet Manager.
• Purchasing permits for oversize and overweight loads under direction of the Fleet Manager.
• Trucks utilization and optimization. (using GPS data to monitor driver behaviours)
