Job Duties & Responsibilities

As the Director of Project Management you are responsible to work the team to ensure high quality and excellence in the delivery of our projects. You are responsible to work with the team to establish best practices and standardization in all areas of project delivery. While reporting to the Vice President of Service Delivery , you will be responsible to manage a team of project managers and ensure project and organizational metrics are met. In addition, you will need to ensure strong relationships with peers across the organization and clients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the Project Management Office has clearly defined and standardized processes that ensure delivery of high-quality projects, and high client satisfaction while ensuring we are meeting our SOW and contractual obligations.
• Work with the VP of Service Delivery to assist in forecasting of project resources and headcount needs
• Ensure accuracy in forecasting of project revenue and hours
• Work with the VP of Service Delivery to develop and maintain spending within budget
• Work with the remaining Service Delivery team to ensure the PMO methodology aligns and supports implementation quality.
• Ensure projects are meeting or exceeding expected project metrics and KPIs
• Coach, mentor and develop a team of project managers, including recruiting, overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
• Maintain a library of project templates to support project quality
  

Experience

• 8+ years experience leading enterprise software implementations,
• Experience managing a project management office in a fast paced service delivery environment
• Strong understanding of the utilities market
• Experience negotiating both internally and externally
• Experience managing projects both internal and external to an organization
• Experience developing and/or managing project KPIs across all the PMO
• Proven experience with conflict resolution and negotiating
• Experience coaching and mentoring direct reports
• Ability to assess processes and determine if there are more efficient ways that improve customer satisfaction
• Proven interpersonal skills, the ability to build and strengthen relationships (both internal and external), and the ability to foster cooperation with numerous stakeholders including senior management, clients and business partners.
• up to 15% travel requirement, mainly within North America but may require travel outside this area
• Proven ability to understand metrics and be able to drive business decisions from them
