DESCRIPTION

Based in Toronto, Ontario, you will report directly to the Supervisor of Crew Dispatch and Transportation. You will ensure that the Alstom assignments and that all trains are crewed on a daily basis in accordance with the collective agreement and requirements of our contract. You will ensure that OMS is updated properly and monitor for hours violations and other concerns. You will keep all worksheets updated and send all required emails in a timely fashion. You will post all notices and ensure that all bulletins are posted properly. You will ensure that all DOB’s, DON’s, Consist Lists and GBO’s are printed and posted properly. You will ensure that you present yourself in a professional and courteous manor towards your fellow co-workers. You will ensure Alstom’s mission to provide our customers with an excellent level Customer Service is met. You will interact closely with the other Managers and Supervisors in operations as well as maintenance.

In your role you will:

• Provide mentoring and support to all crew dispatchers, once qualified. Ensure everyone is operating safely and in compliance with all Alstom policies and procedures and all GO Manual Procedures.
• Ensure all assignments are filled and called properly, in a timely fashion in compliance with the RAC and ESA Regulations. All calls must be made in accordance with the current collective agreements and calling/canvassing procedures.
• Responsible for updating in house crew software with status changes, vacation entitlements, job swaps, and discipline and any updates provided by the HR department.
• Coordinate all General Ads/PVs/TVs, including adjusting TODs in OMS, ensuring you have adjusted based on all appropriate documents.
• Ensures all requests for extra service by our customer are canvassed, filled and all pertinent documents and information are provided to the crews.
• Verify payroll claims, ensuring all crew members are paid in accordance with their TOD, with all applicable premiums, payroll concerns and all crew pay periods are complete without discrepancies or overlapping times.
• Ensure that you have posted all necessary documents such as track allotments, equipment lineups, DOBs, GBOs, crew lineups, bulletins are posted, OBS requirements are met and available in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all transportation and customer service activities are performed safely and promptly while providing a courteous service to clients in accordance with corporate policies, practices, government regulations.
• Work with the transportation department when no one is in that office to ensure keys are signed in and out properly.
• Provide on the job training and coaching for new Crew Dispatchers.
• Investigate payroll concerns for the payroll department.
• Keep detailed notes on all interactions for future grievances.
• Follow all procedures as listed in the Dispatcher Manual.

As our ideal candidate:

• You hold Secondary School diploma;
• You possess a valid drivers license;
• You have experience in fleet scheduling and maintenance.
• You have experience in crew dispatching (in rail or air)
• You have an excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel and problem solving.
• Your English communication skills are excellent.

Additional information: The incumbent of this position must be able to work on different rotational shifts.
