If you are a Corporate/Commercial Legal Assistant, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our client, a leading and award-winning law firm, has an opening in their department and are looking for at least a year of experience to work with a busy Partner and Associate.

Responsibilities:

• Commercial contracts, lease agreements, share purchase

agreements, loan documents, and various other complex legal documents requiring great attention to detail - Preparing Statements of Adjustment

• Organizing and preparing closing books

(paper/electronic)

• Handling post-closing documents, receipting payments,

reporting documents - Preparing accounts, posting time, receipting payments

• Performing dictation, drafting general correspondence;

opening/closing files, conflict checks organizing files, filing, photocopying - Managing lawyer calendars and appointments

• Liaison with clients, courthouse, and other parties
• Working knowledge of residential real estate; preparation of documents; ability to work with or assist the conveyancing paralegal

Qualifications:

• Certification in APPRES or extensive PPR search

experience is an asset - Experience working with Land titles and S.P.I.N.

• Knowledge of Minute Books and corporate structures
• Excellent Microsoft Word and Outlook skills
• Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized College/University (an asset)
