• Responsible for delivering on the yearly strategic goals and objectives laid out in the Deployed Health and Safety performance contract for that entity.

• Assist the entity in developing gap closure plans to close the gaps that are identified and that the closure plans are be carried out to completion.
• Ensure an assurance and self-verification program is functioning as designed within the entity that includes all elements within COIMS. Carry out assurance activities that are outlined in the assurance plan.
• Coach & mentor front line leaders and staff on occupational safety helping to improve their knowledge and assist with executing work safely. This includes collaboration with site leadership to meet and/or exceed Performance Metrics outlined in the entity performance contract.
• Accountable to provide an independent view of risk from operations. Intervention may be required based on the risk identified.
• Support and/or lead incident investigations ensuring that the root cause is identified as per the requirements set out in COIMS. This includes coaching and mentoring site leadership to own and drive the actions to prevent re-occurrence.
• Fostering collaboration between the Deployed Health and Safety team and the Central Health and Safety Team, leveraging the Technical Authorities and multi-disciplinary support as a conduit for communication.

Deliverables:
• Support/lead initiatives and H&S programs.
• Development of assurance activities for the site and H&S team.
• Assistance in development and monitoring of gap closing action plans.
• Work with site leadership and Deployed Health and Safety team to maintain safety management plans for each entity.
• Foster a learning environment that we can learn from our incidents.
• Assist sites in development of yearly assurance plan.
• Continue evolving the management system reviews to find eroding processes in our management system (COIMS).

Competencies:
• Ability to analyze and interpret a wide range of data.
• Capability to turn trends into coaching opportunities, assisting the entity leadership on continuous improvement and creation of meaningful actions.
• Able to support multiple initiatives in multiple locations at once (remotely and in person).
• Fundamental understand of Control of Work processes.
• Practical understanding of the methods of hazard and task risk assessments and the hierarchy of controls.
• Understanding of incident management processes.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in oil and gas environment.
• Understand on contractor management processes.
• Ability to coach and mentor individuals within the operations.
• Working knowledge of Regulatory requirements in and oil and gas environment
