Job description
ASF Associates Inc. (ASF), is currently looking for Junior, Intermediate and Senior Contract Administrators for our Transportation (MTO) Department. ASF is a PEO licensed engineering firm with a combined 30+ years of experience in Ontario. We are Dynamic and a Growing Engineering Firm which provides full opportunity for career development.
Position: Construction Contract Administrator
Mandatory Requirements:
- Possessing RCCA designation by OACETT or P.Eng. by PEO
- Taken and Passed MTO T131 - Advanced Claims – Dispute Resolution Training and its Refresher
Responsibilities:
- Administering the terms of the construction contract on behalf of the MTO
- Ensuring the contractor’s performance compliance with contract documents, CAITM, Applicable OPSSs and OPSDs etc.
- Liaison with the MTO and the Contractor
- Preparing, reviewing, and submitting Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports as per the RFQ
- Chairing different required meeting such as Monthly Site Meeting, Pre-Start Meeting with the Contractor etc.
- Providing supervision and guidance to the inspectors and other field staff
- Ensuring and promoting ongoing adherence to health and safety policies on site in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations
- Ensuring ongoing effective communication between clients, contractors and consultants
- Analyzing and making recommendations to the MTO for all matters including Contractor Information and Compensation requests, Monthly Status Reports, Change Orders, Claims, Negotiations, Change Proposals, design and construction matters encountered on the construction contract etc.
- Preparing Payment Progress Certificate, Instruction Notices to the Contractor, Change Orders etc.
- Reviewing Information request, compensation requests, claims, Change Proposals etc. and making recommendations
- Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as needed
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or other related disciplines
- 5+ years of experience in transportation and municipal projects
- Possessing RCCA designation by OACETT or P.Eng. by PEO
- Taken and Passed MTO T131 - Advanced Claims – Dispute Resolution Training and its Refresher
- Knowledge of MTO’s procedures and processes in Construction Contract Administration
- Knowledge of applicable design standards, OPS Specifications, Standard Drawings, Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual, QC/QA material testing, and etc.
- Knowledge of application of transportation construction practices and methods including the applicable quality assurance procedures
- Proven analytical, communication and negotiation skills
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to utilize computer software such as MS Word, Excel, etc.
- A valid Ontario ‘G’ Class Driver’s License
