• Job **Background** & Summary:* We at Actalent Services are a fast-growing engineering consulting group which expanded to Canada in 2014. A significant part of that growth has come out of our Western Canadian Operations focused on Infrastructure and Utilities projects. To support this growth, we have opened a full-time position for a Civil/Structural Technologist II to join our team on a full-time basis. The selected individual will be a part of our Utilities Division based out of New Westminster, BC.
  
  

The Civil/Structural Technologist II will prepare multi-discipline, technical drawings for internal and external clients. Key activities include liaising with internal stakeholders, coordinating drafting deliverables, and implementing procedures for the efficient delivery of technical drawings. The position requires the incorporation of engineering sketches, mark-ups to both company and client quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with Actalent and client engineers to ensure the design is accurately represented on drawings and all markups are incorporated. This position is a full-time position. This position’s career path with us could lead either towards a technical specialization or managerial roles in our CAD design team.

The role will be based out of our New Westminster, BC office, and may start remotely due to Covid19. This role requires a Covid19 vaccination.

This role required Drug and Alcohol screening as a pre-employment requirement.

• Job Requirements:*
• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Computer Automated Design (CAD) or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a designer/technologist resulting in a fundamental technical understanding to perform basic level, simple civil/structural design.
• Previous experience and capability using AutoCAD.
• Proficient using MS Office applications.
• Any of the below experience will be considered an asset for the role: *
• Experience with MicroStation 2D considered a strong asset.
• Experience with Civil 3D.
• Experience with BC Hydro and FortisBC standards will be considered an asset.
• Experience and capability in multiple disciplines (electrical or mechanical) would be considered an asset.
• Job Responsibilities: *
• Performs a variety of complex drafting/design related to civil/structural engineering design, as well as other disciplines, across multiple clients and engineering projects.
• Reviews drawings prepared by other drafters/designers to ensure accuracy and compatibility of dimensions, details and adherence to standards and design parameters.
• Provides recommendations to engineering team and planners regarding layout of drawings and the application of engineering drafting standards and procedures.
• Liaise with stakeholders such as with the internal project delivery team and client drafters/managers.
