Job Description

Your role as a Civil Engineering Co-op student will be to take part in engineering projects. You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of professional services provided and maintaining good working relationships.

The incumbent will carry out some of the following activities:

• Participate in small to major design projects for civil structures.
• Perform calculations, both manually and with specialized software.
• Prepare and explain markups for designer/drafter about engineering design.
• Prepare sketches and drawings.
• Create 3D model for various purposes.
• Conduct research on new technology and software
• Prepare reports, specifications, and tenders.
• Prepare response for questions from RFI, clients, and engineers
• Check work for accuracy and conformity.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Civil Engineering program
• Eligible to work in Canada as a full-time employee (37.5hr/week)
• Good academic grades
• Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and writing)
• Asset: Ability to communicate in French
• Some background in specialized software considered as a valuable asset: AutoCAD, Autodesk CIVIL 3D, Revit, Inventor, SAP2000, SAFI, MathCAD, ANSYS
• Past experience in civil structure and hydro projects considered as a valuable asset
