This position is located in Surrey but provides services in Langley, Delta, or White Rock as well.

An integral member of a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team and in coordination with other community agencies and professionals, you provide a range of mental health services to children, youth and their families, when the child or youth is suffering from serious emotional, psychological, behavioral or psychiatric illness.

As a Clinician, you provide direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention for children 0 to 18 years old,their families, and members of the care team. Consulting with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs, you understand the importance of being involved in community education, development, coordination and prevention/early intervention programs. You build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in the community to ensure that conflicts are resolved and appropriate outcomes are achieved.

Job Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experienceas outlined below:
  • Licensed to practice nursing under the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, a baccalaureate degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the position OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
    • One year full-time equivalent experience working with children0 to 18 years of age andtheir care systems including families, foster care givers, etc., with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
    • Experience with collaborative care team approach to children’s complex mental health and behaviour concerns.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
    Preference May Be Given To Applicants With The Following
    • Experience and training in early childhood (0 to 6 years of age) mental health.
    • Experience working with clients (including children, families, and their care teams) impacted by complex developmental trauma.
    • Experience working with children impacted by developmental disabilities and disorders.
    • Two years or more of clinical experience working with children, 0 to18years of age and their families and care systems, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
    • Formal training and/or post-degree experience in community-based trauma-focused interventions such as ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) Framework, NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics ) and CCI (Complex Care Intervention).
    • Formal training and/or post-degree experience in applying attachment based parent-child interventions such as Watch, Wait and Wonder; Circle of Security; Filial Therapy (CPRT); PCIT; EFFT, etc.
    • Experience working in MCFD Child Welfare teams or other child protection agencies.
    • Experience working with Indigenous children, youth and/or families.
    • Applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
