Job Summary


Leading the BIM & Integration Team of the Program Delivery Partner (PDP) the role will report to the PDP Head of Design and Systems Integration & Assurance.


The role is responsible for delivering, and where possible exceeding the client’s expectations across the following areas of responsibility within a large, multidisciplinary program delivery team:

Role and responsibilities


The BIM & Integration Lead will be responsible for leading the CADD & BIM processes, technical coordination between projects and auditing of compliance with digital design systems:

  • Initially investigate the status of BIM and CADD deliverables, processes and procedures, software and environments used by various projects within the program.
  • Develop a team that monitors, federates, and coordinates project designs and construction sequence interfaces, working with the supply chain, project partners and third parties in the program 3D environment to resolve spatial and chronology coordination issues.
  • Help develop common data environment for the program and assist with auditing project-level compliance with procedures.
  • Review and coordinate BIM data from Technical Advisors, designers and third parties.
  • Manage supply chain compliance and assurance verification of these deliverables.
  • Liaise with Logistics, Construction, Project Controls and BIM team to ensure all stakeholders’ requirements are considered to support construction sequencing.
  • Produce models/drawings where required from existing data or produce such data in accordance with project requirements.
  • Help produce 4D simulations from project data to facilitate wider program and stakeholder discussions.
  • Escalate unresolved coordination issues to the Designs Managers required.
  • Liaise with the wider program team to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across all projects and help establish a ‘right first-time’ culture across the IPDT to ensure the most efficient delivery of the Program for the client.
  • Oversee the implementation of effective, value for money and innovative design solutions to meet technical and project requirements
  • Training and development, mentoring of junior staff.
  • Help develop legacy training programs for internal and client staff, plus be engaged in industry initiatives to help develop digital skills.
  • Contributing to the long-term technical development of the IPDT by application of new techniques, procedures and practices.
  • Integrate designs spread across the full life cycle and cover all disciplines involved in railway infrastructure and systems.
  • Ensure compliance of the designs in accordance with the project requirements and the design contracts.
  • Develop and implement safe by design processes and procedures, ensuring robust identification, mitigation and communication of hazards.
  • Work with the rest of the design team to ensure designs are coordinated interfaced across projects and disciplines.
  • Facilitate a project environment that is inclusive, diverse and celebrates our differences.
  • Create a high-performing culture open to constructive challenge, seeking continual improvement and implementing lessons learnt.

Qualifications


Education: Relevant degree or equivalent vocational qualifications

Years of experience: Minimum 10 years in BIM design and BIM work environment implementation;

Technical competencies:

  • Significant experience in project delivery from an infrastructure or engineering, project lead environment
  • Proven experience in the adoption of technology to deliver complex projects,
  • Team management and development experience
  • Experience in the application and management of design systems to deliver projects
  • A good communicator with a sensitive and a customer-focused approach to project technology management and use
  • Experience successfully managing complex Project Technology projects
