BHJOB15656_16518 - Lead Test Automation and Framework Architect

The recruitment team at Myticas Consulting is looking for an experienced Test Automation and Framework Architect who would be interested in a fulltime permanent opportunity offered within the Ottawa, ON region.

What You’ll Do

You will help to lead the development and implementation of a new test and automation framework, working with a team of product and infrastructure architects, as well as vendors and open-source offerings.

You will be an advocate for test and automation, that delivers value and quality and will convince development and QA teams to apply best test and automation practices. You will drive test automation initiatives and make a difference in the quality of the products by enabling test automation at all levels from unit test to system test.

Responsibilities:

• Technical leadership for the verification and validation teams
• Collaborate proactively across product engineering to help define harmonized testing procedure and pipelines
• Help drive in the overall product quality process and direction of testing, support and evangelize across the company
• Collaborate with peers, to foster the quality discipline within all the product engineering teams
• Support and enablement of unit and feature testing within the product development teams
• Responsible for the regression, integration, performance and system testing within the transversal verification and validation teams
• Work to reduce complexity and improve maintainability of our testing and automation framework
• Influence others and represent technical insight to customers and other engineers
• Support and encourage solid engineering processes (e.g., Agile, Lean, TDD, Kanban, scrum, etc.)
• Process development and implementation for the direct team/s and department.
• Contributing to budget requirements and future needs
• Mentor others and provide cross-team input
• Interfacing to various other parts of the company such as Services, Support, Engineering Operations, and Product Management

Qualifications/Skills:

• BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).
• 7+ years of relevant technical experience in software development, test and automation.
• 5+ years in test and automation framework development, selection, implementation, and maintenance
• Familiarity with test and automation methodologies at all levels (unit test, component test, integration test, system test, etc).
• Excellent programming skills
• Experience with driving test automation initiatives.
• Experience with large scale project.
• Experience in DevOps methodologies and such cloud and opensource technologies as AWS, LogStash, Kubernetes, Istio, Harbor, and Minio Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative environments.
• Self-managed, fast learner with the desire and ability to master new technologies.
• Exposure to other languages (Ansible, SQL, Shell Scripting) would be an asset.
