Global Banking and Markets

Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange and precious & metals. Purpose


Are you passionate about Capital Markets and have a strong background in data analysis and operational controls? If so, we are seeking out an experienced, data-driven Associate Director to join our Investigations and Recordkeeping team within Global Banking and Markets (‘GBM”). As an Associate Director you will lead and support critical regulatory, operational and legal investigations within Capital Markets, leveraging data analytics tools and concepts. Additionally, you will support GBM in its efforts to establish a best-in-class recordkeeping program by leading and supporting recordkeeping programs and workstreams. As a experienced leader in GBM, you will also coach and lead our team of associates in ensuring operational excellence within our group processes and procedures.

Accountabilities
  • Execute reviews, analysis and investigations of operational process and control breakdowns across GBM of incidents with a potential regulatory impact
  • Perform data analysis for incidents, utilizing a repeatable and scientific methodology to determine incident impact and suggest findings
    • Report the results of the reviews, investigations, and status of corrective action plans to GBM senior management and relevant stakeholders
    • Track issues identified and the corrective action plans until full resolution of investigations and reviews
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of GBM’s records management program, in compliance with the Banks’s records management Framework, Policies, Procedures and Guidelines in coordination with Risk Management, Compliance, Technology and Record Owners
    • Participate as a member of the team to innovate and create ways to identify, retain, retrieve and dispose of records in an efficient and effective manner.
    • Lead the documentation and maintenance of procedures and standards in collaboration with Compliance, Technology and other control and support functions for recordkeeping requirements.
    • Act as a global records management subject matter expert for GBM
    • Coordinate with stakeholders on periodic testing and validation of recordkeeping requirements
    • Act as the escalation point for incidents related to recordkeeping requirements, investigate, and develop remediation plans and track through to completion
  • Assist in the production of relevant, accurate, and comprehensive information in response to regulatory inquiries
  • Support the creation and review of holistic dashboards and reports for GBM senior management and executive committees, including KRI, KPI and other operational risk metrics in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Support a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements
  • University degree in quantitative field (i.e. Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science)
  • At least five years’ experience in a role related to Capital Markets, Corporate/Investment Banking or Compliance
  • Previous experience with design and implementation of internal control policies or processes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, specifically with Python programming language. Experience with development using Jupyter Notebooks is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communications and inter-personal skills.
  • Proficient with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Proficient in English and one of the following languages is an asset, Spanish or Portuguese


Working Conditions

  • Dynamic, fast paced office-based environment. The role operates in a standard trading floor environment which is often times very loud and requires intense focus to effectively manage trading and operational risk.
  • Demands can be unpredictable.
  • In-office work hours may be long due to tight timeframes and the dynamic environment of capital market activities, and to provide support to our global locations.
