Responsibilities:
  • You will act as a supervisor 50% of the time, the other 50% your time you will serve guests
  • Open and close the Bar 3 days per week
  • Lead by example and support the team in providing professional, warm, and excellent guest service, leading to complete satisfaction
  • Perform accurate daily liquor inventory
  • Perform walk through to ensure security after the bar is closed
  • Know the menu for the bar as well as each function, be able to explain the ingredients and preparation
  • Address any customer concerns and resolve assuring customers leave feeling their concern was addressed professionally
  • Assist in the enhancement of the guest service experience by implementing creative initiatives
  • Actively participate in improving service standards and ratings
  • Participate in weekly Manager Meetings and Food & Beverage Meetings
  • Build effective working relationships with other departments
  • Possess a keen awareness of liquor laws, alcohol service and potential problem areas
  • Ensure all department programs, service standards, policies and procedures are communicated and followed in a consistent and accurate manner
  • Ensure all employees conform to the provincial laws with respect to alcohol consumption
  • Assist in the achievement of budgeted profitability through effective management of food & beverage cost control procedures, effective allocation of labor and participation in the development of sales and marketing strategies
  • Prepare and review orders and complete monthly food & beverage inventories
  • Assist in establishing methods for inventory control and adhere to purchasing procedures;
  • Complete and follow up on all required reports
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a bar with a minimum of 2 years as a supervisor
  • Demonstrated understanding of restaurant, in-room dining and bar options
  • Experience in hiring, scheduling, would be an asset
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Must be positive, upbeat and have a passion for hospitality and guest service
  • Adaptable to changing situations and ability to work well under pressure
