JOB DESCRIPTION ACCOUNTING CLERK

Under the supervision of the general manager, the accounting clerk takes care of payroll management, assumes responsibility for the various aspects of accounting and hand in hand with the assistance of the general manager for the accomplishment of her various functions.

Tasks and main functions o Work closely with the general manager and the coordinator of operations. o Act as a resource person for compensation and benefits o Responds to inquiries made by staff and the public, by telephone or in writing, regarding matters relating to personnel services. o Receiving and recording cash and cheques, manages deposits. o Compiles data for payroll o Write, design and update employee files. o Compile the hours of work in the file of each employee. o Write and compile hours vs sales reports, commission reports and month end reports. o Maintains calendar for sick leave, vacation leave or compensation leave. o Transcribe and compile relevant information for the remittance of source deductions. o Lead and manage the process of sending sales invoices, distribution and calculation of commissions to representatives o Enter and update accounts receivable lists for the General Manager o Invoicing daily with data entry for order input o Administers the group insurance plan, RRSPs, terminations of employment. o Production of lists of accounts receivable, monthly sales and account statements. o Prepares, classifies, verifies and compiles the annual file for the production of the balance sheet and financial statements to be submitted to the auditor. o Shares tasks with the general manager to compile month end and year end results. o Responsible for all aspects of payables (packing slips, invoices, payments, credits …) o Producing a variety of reports including income statements and balance sheets. o Be called upon to perform any other related tasks.

Requirements o DEC in administration, university degree in accounting and/or training combined with relevant experience o Have a minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar environment o Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy o Extremely trustworthy and professionally-minded o Good knowledge of computers - especially the Windows environment and Word and Excel software o Master certain computer and office equipment o Good knowledge of the standards governed by the various levels of government concerning labor standards, source deductions and all other forms used for remuneration.

o Ability to master a software performing the remuneration
