Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Systems Administrator (Windows) is responsible for supporting all aspects of Windows servers in our data centre and provide second level assistance on all Information Technology services.

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and support of core Windows server infrastructure in the corporate environment.
  • Active Directory, DNS, Certificate Services, ADFS, Group Policies, DHCP, LDAP, etc.
  • Network folder share permissions.
  • Design and maintain a patching program for our Windows and Linux servers using industry standard tools.
  • Troubleshoot legacy Linux, Windows and ESX server and OS issues.
  • Hardening of public facing servers.
  • Security - Maintains established departmental security standards.
  • Build and maintain documentation of all processes.
  • Design, maintain and test Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans in the context of our Windows server infrastructure.
  • Execute a planned program of virus updates, patch and service pack management, including testing, deployment staging, and documentation.
  • Answer phone calls, emails and in person requests for help from the users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues at a second level.
  • Participate in a 24/7/365 coverage pattern, rotating with other team members.
  • Perform other duties within IT as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma specializing in Information Technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, core services and enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere.
  • Knowledge of scripting technologies – PowerShell, PowerCLI, Bash, Python
  • Knowledge of SSO, SAML, LDAP, ADFS.

Experience required:

  • Minimum 2 years Windows and Linux server experience.
