Operational Network IT Support

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Contract

Mandatory Requirements:
• Work on site (in office) (33 King St. W, Oshawa) 5 days a week (Monday-Friday, regular working hours)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice to clients and leverage OPS I&IT solutions and applications to meet program/service goals and objectives ensuring efficiency.
  • Verify System monitoring and operability – system health, fax server availability, inbound/outbound file transfer, FileNet communication.
  • Collaborate with vendors, clients, and partners.
  • Write scripts
  • Create, manage, and follow up on support tickets.
  • Investigate production issues, and escalate to proper parties when necessary
  • Verify systems and applications are running as expected
  • Confirm file transfer scripts are enabled/disabled when required
  • Confirm inbound files are loaded successfully into the application
  • Verify production and test backup jobs are completed successfully
  • Verify mainframe files are transferred
  • Verify FileNet image transfer
  • Verify Image on File extracts and transmissions are completed
  • Verify MFT transfer service is completed
  • Verify MoveIT transfer service is completed
  • Verify Connect Direct (NFS) transfer service is completed
  • Confirm image ON EOD processes are completed successfully
  • Manage building access
  • Manage application/system user access
  • Verify hardware, lighting, and HVAC are in good working condition
  • Coordinate/validate monthly generator testing and impact to ImageON
  • Monitor ImageON server/workstation/tape/SAN/printer infrastructure
  • Coordinate/verify vendor support or release implementation
  • Provide validation and Tier 2 support on monthly patching activities
  • Provide Tier 2 support for anti-virus updates
  • Perform server start-up/shutdown
  • Provide analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and identify clients’ business needs and technical needs, and propose alternatives/solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in ticketing and work queue management
  • Excellence in investigating and troubleshooting production issues
  • Ability to provide implementation and post-implementation support as required
  • Knowledge and experience on

- MS Windows 10 and 11 (recent builds) Deployment and Troubleshooting
- MS Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2019, Active Directory and Troubleshooting
- MS SQL Server 2012 2016 Management Studio

  • Be able to do MS Windows PowerShell scripting, MS VB Scripting
  • Knowledge and experience in file transfer protocols
  • Knowledge of network, firewalls
  • Basic infrastructure knowledge, including fax, server, mainframe, lighting, HVAC, etc.
  • Knowledge of change/enhancement/release management
  • Knowledge of application and system user access
  • Provides specialized technical expertise in the overall analysis of the design and architecture of systems solutions.
  • Ability to evaluate recommendations and ensure all recommended solutions for improvement are congruent with the project goals and objectives Identifies short and long-term project goals/objectives.
  • Be able to define and identify program and service delivery requirements in support of the development and/or acquisition of client applications
  • Be able to lead the analysis, development, and documentation of design and architecture of systems solutions.
  • Experience in leading the technical aspects of projects related to the development and/or acquisition of a diverse range of client applications through all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in leading development/support teams supporting multi-dimensional and relational databases and their applications for effective planning, budgeting, strategizing, and forecasting procedures
  • Ability to research and evaluate the technical components in the acquisition of software, hardware, technology, systems, and products

Problem-solving and communication Skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Provide consultation to management/client/team/vendor as required.
  • Proper escalation when necessary
  • Ability to plan and coordinate onsite testing with all partners required
  • Ability to create test plans, test strategy, test cases, execute, monitor and track testing status
  • Ability to follow issues, tickets, and test cycles from start to finish to ensure completion to meet SLAs or key sequential actions to be completed by owners and communicate transition to the next owner to kick off their key action/task
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and follow through with multiple initiatives at one time
  • Be able to assess and identify clients’ business needs and technical needs and propose solutions
  • Experience in recommending and directing the measurement and improvement of tools, techniques, standards, and performance criteria to control the quality of application development initiatives
  • Be able to provide coaching and direction to junior analysts
  • Excellence in liaison and communication with business partners, vendors, and IT teams
  • Proven track record of building strong working relationships.
  • Excellent in writing technical documentation and reports
  • Ability to create documents that require client approval and signoff
  • Excellent written communication skills to prepare project reports, presentations on analysis and recommendations, system documentation, and manuals

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Image capture and digital documentation industry
  • Ability to handle and manage conflict situations maintaining professionalism
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
  • Experience with the development/maintenance of documentation as per Methodology
  • Be able to prepare technical documents, functional and non-functional requirements documents, systems specifications requirements
  • Be able to guide the feasibility studies and cost-effective analyses of proposed client I&IT initiatives, ensure all studies and analyses are documented
