Our client is a Fortune 500 , worldwide IT Consulting firm and they are looking to add a IT Buyer to their local , downtown Toronto office.


JOB DESCRIPTION

"Reporting into the Americas Regional Category Manager, the IT Category Buyer will support with the acquisition of IT products and services, focused on Software and Hardware. Responsibilities will include vendor selection, strategic sourcing, negotiation, and vendor relationship. The individual will;


  • Contribute and support business in the ongoing development of the IT category strategy, collaborating with the different parties in identifying current and future sourcing needs.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional Procurement, during the entire procurement cycle, to identify the right vendor and/or to define and execute negotiation strategy.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders and vendors to communicate on new initiatives, identity business opportunities for Capgemini.


Responsibilities


  • Support IT procurement activities associated with the acquisition of Software and Hardware.
  • You will work with our Regional and Group Procurement to support management of business stakeholders regionally, to ensure that the category strategy, including preferred vendors and global standards is understood and agreed.
  • You will support Americas region regarding compliance management, monitoring and reporting.
  • You will develop initiatives into the budget process and forecasting Procurement cost savings initiatives within our Procurement tools.
  • You will help support the procurement operations transformation and savings initiatives
  • You will ensure that category agreements and savings targets and customer satisfaction requirements are met.
  • Use appropriate risk management techniques to support the broader procurement strategy.

Key Areas of Skills & Experience


  • Must have IT & Telco procurement and software category specific experience (3-5 years), strategic sourcing and proven ability to work in a logical and thorough way with ability to pay attention to details.
  • Must have experience negotiating Software License Agreements under different licensing models (i.e. SaaS, Term License, etc). Be familiar with the acquisition of other IT categories such as Hardware, Telco and or IT professional services.
  • Ability to demonstrate innovative solutions to complicated purchasing initiatives, in a fast moving and demanding environment.
  • Should be perceived as a hard and fair negotiator, who manages and develops suppliers to meet customer requirements.

  • Good communication and networking skills and able to work effectively as either an individual or as part of a team in a matrix environment.
  • Highly motivated towards achieving cost savings and corporate goals (i.e. commercially minded)
  • Must have excellent inter-personal skills in order to become accepted in a challenging environment and driving change in a positive manner
  • Experience translating business strategies into accountable priorities for the team
  • Demonstrated successful managing of individuals or team to achieve goals while maintaining individual or team satisfaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
