Your Opportunity:

The IT Analyst - Dispatch Mobility Technology Specialist will provide technical support to the 3 AHS EMS Dispatch Centers as well as the EMS Fleet of vehicles and staff. They will also co-ordinate as required with various other specialized IT resources and vendors to ensure consistent uptime and service. The Dispatch Mobility Technology Specialist will support Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs), LTE modems, specialized mobile technologies, and various interfaces with the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) applications. The Dispatch Mobility Technology Specialist will work co-operatively with other support specialists to provide exceptional service. Technical Support: Participates in the development, maintenance, monitoring, application and enhancement of new or existing system(s) or technologies. Investigates, analyzes and diagnoses problems; establishes temporary solutions and, resolves issues utilizing technical knowledge and client requirements. Responds to non-standard requests and ad-hoc problems within supported system(s) or technologies. Consults with vendors or senior staff on complex issues and problems. Configures and modifies system(s) to meet requirements including modifying vendor, provided configuration tools within the pre-existing system(s). Tests and implements system changes in partnership with clients and vendors. Vendor Management: Escalates issues to the vendor for resolution, performs testing on solutions prior to implementation and ensures the vendor has resolved the issues. Coordinates the implementation of solutions (e.g. changes, updates, patches) by arranging details with clients, stakeholders and the vendor. Project Work: Participates on project teams or sub-team(s) as a technical resource by conducting a needs assessment, consulting on issues and providing viable solutions.

Description:

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Two to five years experience in a multi-discipline information technology environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in public safety technology and experience with: Intergraph CAD systems, AVL/GPS systems, GIS and geomatics, mobile/wireless data, two-way radios, SMS, WAN/WLAN/LAN networks, telephony systems.
