Brief Job Description

The Saskatchewan (SK) Dry Good (DG) & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Inventory Coordinator will report to SK Office Administration Supervisor and oversee the full function of Thunder Creek Pork Inc (TCP) and North 49 Foods Ltd. (N49) DG&PPE Inventory control which includes DG Inventory receiving, pick up to work orders after issue to production, weekly/monthly/year-end DG&PPE inventory physical count or audit of such. Working in collaboration with other Warehouse Supervisors, DG&PPE procurement to sustain the day-to-day efficiency of the warehouse operation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the DG&PPE procurement team to conduct reasonable inventory replenishment weekly.
  • Performs DG receiving and pickup for work orders on a daily basis at DFF-IS2/006&010/IMS DG.
  • Implements the daily /weekly /monthly DG&PPE inventory checks and counts to ensure inventory meets production requests at least once a week.
  • Investigates any inventory discrepancies, communicates investigations to the procurement team and implements controls to prevent recurrences.
  • Organizes and maintains DG&PPE inventory levels and ensures inventory is in good shape, e.g. no broken cases, no unknown cases.
  • Manages DG&PPE Inventory First in First Out (FIFO) practices through checks through product production dates, receiving dates and rotates inventory as per instructions from the warehouse/purchasing/production department.
  • Follows up and resolves any irregular in-transit shipments between sister companies.
  • Optimizes the Warehouse Management System to map/monitor and makes necessary adjustments for all warehouse locations in DFF-IS2/ IMS Dry.
  • Analyzes root causes of problems and implements sustainable solutions relating to inventory control.
  • Optimizes floor space; adheres to storage design principles; incorporates lean principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements & Skills

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a warehouse/supply chain operations.
  • Forklift & high-reach certified.
  • Knowledge of local WorkSafe regulations.
  • Knowledge of MS office365 and MS Excel.
  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, efficiency and inventory stewardship.
  • Able to work in cooler (0 degree) /freer (-24 degree) during the shift.
  • Strong communication skills – written / spoken.

Working Conditions

  • Regular hours - Monday to Friday, some weekends may be required.
  • Flexibility required based on business needs.
  • Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Working at times in a noisy and/or cold environment.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Standing/walking for long periods of time.
