Role: Intermediate/Senior Software Developer/Data Scientist

Location: Toronto/Remote

Job Description:

· Implement and evolve Cyber Security DataLake using cutting edge big data technologies

· Collaborate with engineering teams and architects on the development of projects, design, and implementation

· Lead the evaluation, development and roll-out of new features and use cases in the Cyber Security DataLake

· Drive initiatives to make components scale as usage increases

· Conduct and participate in code reviews, analysis, and performance tuning

· Implement unit, functional and performance tests

· Mentor and support the development of other team members

Required:

· 2-5 years of experience in an object-oriented language (e.g., Java/Scala/Python/Ruby/etc.)

· Experience in developing and tuning highly scalable systems

· Excellent grasp of software engineering principles

· Experience with building and deploying big data pipelines and serverless architecture on cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) using tools such as Terraform/Spinnaker/Ansible

· Experience with Open Source

· Understanding of multithreading, garbage collection and memory management

· Exposure to cluster orchestration tools such as Kubernetes/Apache YARN/Mesos and container runtimes such as Docker

Great-to-haves:

· Experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Processing libraries and frameworks such as Pytorch, Scikit, Pandas, Numpy, Spark MLib, TensorFlow, Keras

· Experience working with ingestion/Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools such as NiFi/Pentaho

· Experience with SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Hive) and NoSQL technologies (MongoDB/HBase/Elastic Cache/Redis)

· Experience using big data stack such as Kafka, Spark/Storm/Beam

· Professional security certification(s) (CISSP, CISM, SANS, etc.) or related experience

· Required Designations/Certifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical/STEM degree OR equivalent experience will be considered

Contract length: 12 months

Expected Start Date: 13/9/2021

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $65.00-$70.00 per hour
