Position Summary

The Insurance Accounting Manager is a leader specialized in navigating the success, growth, efficiency, and progress of their team within the HUB Financial Center [HFC]. Ensuring the department workflows operate efficiently. This leader will encourage process improvement, collaboration, engagement, and innovation across their supporting leads and core associates. They are responsible for updating their leadership partners across accounting and regional staff on updated policies and create awareness around internal controls to mitigate risk. By driving the HFC Purpose in their responsibilities and how they support their team, this leader will be able to cultivate a culture focusing on our people, protecting the core, building the new, and serving smart. Personal and professional growth is paramount to the success of any role in the HFC and the leadership team is expected to actively contribute to the development of their team and well as their own.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and assist with the improvement and implementation of key performance metrics that provide visibility on production to identify strengths and processing risks
  • Encouraging a collaborative and innovate environment which promotes team members at all levels to share ideas
  • Strong desire to support internal and external partners in providing solutions and enhancements
  • Participate in the formation and presentation of individual performance assessments for direct reports
  • Collaboratory with Supervisors invest, analyze and identify opportunities to provide training for all direct reports
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with HFC leaders, Regional Finance Managers, and external partners
  • Reviews and analyzes the department workflows to develop more efficient procedures and utilization of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Fosters a collective team environment where cross functions are assumed as necessary in order to meet department deadlines and goals
  • Ensure escalations are resolved timely and accurately, creating awareness and accountability on root cause to reduce future escalations
  • Participates and supports regional calls, acquisition integration planning, leadership development sessions, and various project calls, as essential
  • Work in partnership with the HFC Leadership team to support overall organizational and department goals and objectives
  • Other duties as identified
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years with a proven track record of supervising a successful team of at least 15 people
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • BA/BS in Business, related experience may offset this requirement
  • A well-established understanding of accounting, financial concepts and controls
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a shared services accounting environment preferred
  • Insurance brokerage experience preferred
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office
  • Must understand the need for flexibility in working schedule to meet deadlines and support a team

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree)
