Electrical Engineering Technologist/Programmer

Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians may work independently or provide technical support and services in the design, development, testing, production and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems. They are employed by electrical utilities, communications companies, manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment, consulting firms, and in governments and a wide range of manufacturing, processing and transportation industries.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in electrical controls.
• This position requires an understanding of operational processes, electrical power, electrical controls and pneumatics.
• The position also requires working with multiple disciplines including electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Previous experience or knowledge with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and operator interface controllers such as HMI’s or touch-screens is an asset; this includes at a minimum Allen Bradley, Distech and/ or Siemens Automation.
• Candidates with a strong background in HVAC industrial controls; this includes air make up units, both direct fired, and indirect fired, Air conditioning systems, including DX systems, chillers, and evaporative will receive preference.
• Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Ability to use AutoCad
• A highly motivated self-starter with exceptional communication and computer skills.
• Ok with travel across the city and out of town

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create sequence of operations and download programs to the HVAC units.
• Create programs for Distech and Allen Bradley.
• Modify programs as needed.
