Job Description

Our client in the Mississauga area is looking for an HR Generalist to join their team on a 12 month contract basis to start (high potential for this position to turn permanent). This role will involve working very closely with the Operations team and leading any HR functions and initiatives.

Working Location: HYBRID (3 days in office 2 from home)

*Must be comfortable training in office 4-5 days a week for about a month

Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for general HR administrative duties, including employee correspondence, generating monthly/annual reports, HR analytics, etc.
  • Support the administration of various HR programs, including the Attendance Awareness Program and Performance Management Program.
  • Support the Disability Management program, including the workplace injury claims (CNESST) process, short-term disability (STD) process, long-term disability (LTD) process, and workplace accommodation cases.
  • Support JHSC and Health & Safety programs, as well as Health & Safety reporting.
  • Coordinate and lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including drafting job postings, identifying recruitment strategies, advertising, screening, creating interview guides, scheduling and conducting interviews, extending offers, coordinating reference and criminal record checks.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including arrival preparation and first-day orientations.
  • Coordinate and lead the processing of bi-weekly payroll (Kronos).
  • You will conduct process documentation and accurate records maintenance and filing.
  • You will participate in the development of departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Monitor the performance evaluation program.
  • Maintain compliance with provincial regulations concerning employment.
  • You will address employee inquiries and help strengthen employee relations

Qualifications and Experience

Must have:

  • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources
  • 5 years of HR experience
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in a role that required a high volume of activity
  • Effective time management abilities
  • Comfortable advising on new legislation
