Role Summary
Home Base programs support youth to achieve increased independence, reconnection with family and/or important people in their lives, and to function more successfully in the community, while residing in a safe and supportive housing environment.
Home Base is seeking experienced, dynamic and motivated individuals to fill a flexible part-time position of Human Resources Assistant.
The Human Resources Executive Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the efficient and effective functioning of the Human Resources (HR) department. This position involves a combination of administrative, organizational, and communication tasks to ensure smooth HR operations and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR executives, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of HR documents, reports, and presentations.
Recruitment Support
- Coordinate the recruitment process by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and orientation activities are organized.
Employee Relations
- Act as a liaison between HR executives and employees, addressing inquiries and providing information on HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
Event Coordination
- Assist in organizing HR-related events, such as training sessions, workshops, and team-building activities.
- Coordinate logistics for HR meetings and training programs.
Policy & Procedure Compliance
- Support the implementation and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Data Management
- Assist in the compilation and analysis of HR data
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports
Confidentiality
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.

The successful candidate will bring with them:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Degree or Diploma, including but not limited to Office Administration (asset)
- Proven experience in an administrative or executive assistant role, with exposure to HR functions.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a similar role/environment (required)

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities.

- In-depth proficiency of Google Suite and Canva (Sheets, Docs, Classroom required)

Prerequisites
- Yellowknife resident , this is an on-site position with flexibility available (required)
- Current Work VISA Status (required)
- Fluency in English (comprehension, verbal & written) (_required)_
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Child and Family Services Check (as necessary)
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
