As a member of our Industrial group, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various industrial projects for the resource sector – oil (including refining and upgrading), oil sands, natural gas, petrochemicals, power generation, mining and forestry, potash, uranium and other resources. As a member of our Industrial group, you will also ensure the highest safety and environmental standards are upheld.


Reporting to the HS&E Manager, the HS&E Coordinator is a position in our organization responsible for ensuring company management and workers comply with OH&S/OSHA Regulations, our HSE Management System, and client safety guidelines. HS&E Coordinator supports projects throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia and will be required to work rotation shifts.


As a HS&E Coordinator, some key responsibilities include:


  • Set a good example, demonstrate a positive safety attitude and abide by the Safety Code of Ethics
  • Provide, support and leadership
  • Identify cultural and behavioural issues related to HSE, and drive a step-change in safety behaviours
  • Build mutually respectful and constructive relationships with project management teams and front-line supervision.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and training
  • Develop/maintain and support an organization which embraces a commitment to safety and environmental excellence, support and develop concepts of best practice, continuous improvement and team work
  • Participate in and/or provide direction to others conducting HSE Inspections, HSE Audits, incident investigations, review site incident investigations, including making recommendations to senior management to eliminate or control future risk
  • Provide recommendations for implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives including the review and submit monthly HSEQ statistics


To be Successful at Graham, you will have the following qualifications and experience:


  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of post-secondary education, trade certification or training and work experience
  • Certified Safety Officer (CSO or NCSO) minimum requirement
  • CRSP/CSP/CSO/NCSO/NEBOSH or equivalent is desirable but not essential
  • Minimum of 3-10 years of Industrial Construction experience in the Health and Safety field
  • Minimum 2 years HSE Supervisory experience
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of OH&S/OSHA Acts & Regulations
  • Have broad knowledge of local government Health & Safety Acts, Policies, Regulations, and Industry Standards as they apply to the construction industry
  • Be a results-oriented leader capable of working productively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Have thorough knowledge and experience in health and safety management systems and program implementation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Strong mentoring skills
  • Possess the demonstrated ability to motivate self and others
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and conflict resolution skill
