Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Journeyperson/Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician (Truck & Transport) for our client, a globally known industrial company located in Fort McMurray, AB, to support their Fleet Shop. In this role, you will be responsible for Running Repairs, Preventative Maintenance programs, and shop work. Specialized in troubleshooting with quick and accurate assessments and prompt estimates for repair times and specific parts that are required. If you do, this job is for you!

• Pay rate:$55.60 per hour + we offer RRSP matching and excellent shared group benefits – OT is paid after 8 hours and for all hours on weekends.
• Location: Fort McMurray, AB, located in the Taiganova Eco-Industrial Park (it’s about 5 minutes from Eagle Ridge) | candidates must have their own accommodations and transportation within the region.
• Shifts: 7 days on, 7 days off |12-hour day shifts; totalling 84 hours per rotation.

Job responsibilities include:

· Perform all aspects of truck and transport diagnosis, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

· Complete routine self-generated work, and daily work order requests for repairs and service.

· Complete estimates and maintains accurate reporting and documentation on performed work.

· Interaction with customers to provide service details as required.

· Mentor and train apprentices as needed.

· Actively participate in the shop safety program and maintain strict adherence to OH&S guidelines.

· Contribute to general housekeeping and organization within the shop.

To qualify, you should:

· 5 or more years experience as a Journeyperson or Red Seal Technician.

· Alberta Certified Journeyperson or Red Seal in Heavy Equipment Trade (Truck & Transport).

· Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVIP) is preferred.

· Candidates must provide their own tools.

· Class 5 driver’s license is required, but a Class 1 or Class 3 license with Air Brakes is preferred.

· Experience with Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, and/or Cummins engines is preferred.

· Recent experience with Tractor Trailer such as Kenworth, Peterbilt, International is preferred.

· Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

· Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a diverse workforce and independently.

· Problem-solving and organization skills.

· Experience planning and prioritizing when faced with multiple tasks.

· Must be physically fit to complete the tasks assigned which involve extensive walking, climbing, and working in awkward positions, along with carrying heavy materials.
