First Alliance Energy Services requires a Safety Coordinator

This position will give you the opportunity to provide leadership and administrative support to promote and manage the safety program. You will work alongside staff to monitor and track our safety activities to confirm whether or not the systems in place are working and to ensure the safety program is successful. The Safety Coordinator will provide leadership to ensure compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal acts and regulations.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assisting in the preparation of safety policies and formation and training of health and safety committees.
  • Assisting in the program for the identification, evaluation, control, and monitoring of safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Ensuring that suitable personal protective equipment and other safety equipment is available and maintained in good condition.
  • Updating safety bulletins throughout the offices, conducting safety meetings.
  • Conducting new employee safety training and ensuring that all personnel receive appropriate ongoing support and safety training.
  • Updating the Safety Manual annually.
  • Auditing policies for compliance and ensuring that an ongoing system of inspections and audits are carried out.
  • Conducting accident and incident investigations and identify methods to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Understanding internal and external accident reporting systems, maintaining statistics, and establish a recording system for all safety activities.
  • Being the lead on COR.

Job Requirements:

What you bring to the table:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of OHS regulations, policies, guidelines, and standards
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization, observation, and documentation skills
  • Committed team player and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to promote and foster a culture of health and safety
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in ISNetworld and Complyworks
  • Must have all four courses through the Heavy Construction Safety Association of Saskatchewan the ability to prepare for and complete annual audits.

This position can be based out of Saskatoon or North Battleford.
