Job Description Summary

Maxim’s Industrial & Healthcare Business Unit is seeking a hardware design engineer to be part of a highly motivated and dynamic team product development team developing firmware for our USB and video extension products from Icron Technologies – a Maxim Integrated Brand. This individual will report directly to Icron’s Director of Product Development to develop hardware for Icron products in a highly agile and dynamic environment. In this role, you will be working with RTL/IC and firmware engineers to develop hardware for our world leading products.

Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:

The ideal candidate is an extremely skilled and proactive hardware design engineer with at least 5 years of design experience and have a solid record of producing desired results. Support and required training for the role will be provided.

The right candidate for this role is eager to solve problems and produce quality products. The role will provide hardware engineering feedback to other groups at Icron and will work closely with contract manufacturer .

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Engineering Degree or a Technology Diploma with relevant industry experience

Experience: 5+ years of hardware development

• Component-level hardware design
• Documentation of the design and verification data
• Component selection balancing features, cost, and availability
• Schematic capture and PCB layout
• Bench-level debugging
• Experience with troubleshooting EMC and EMI issues
• Balancing priorities and tasks across multiple projects
• Must be a self-starter; works well independently with minimal guidance, and drives process
• Thrives in a collaborative team environment, and can work individually
• Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Must be well organized, methodical, detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate clearly and often with management and team members is key in Maxim’s collaborative environment
