THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Front-End (FE) UI developer to join our Software Development team. Our Senior FE UI Developers in collaboration with our FE Architects work to materialize the UI design crafted by our UX team filling a needed role in our application development scrum teams.

While all our development teams are currently in transition back to working from the office, this position is rooted in our Ottawa or Denver office, so a willingness to re-locate to Ottawa or Denver, and being eligible to work hybrid style in Canada or Denver are requirements for this position.

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide technical leadership by working with stakeholders and cross-functional team members to evaluate design options, proposing solutions to complex problems, and sharing amongst team members
• Develop robust, scalable, maintainable, and high-performance solutions for desktop and mobile applications
• Write unit test cases during the development of code and conducting peer code reviews
• Collaborate with QA to ensure test automation of work
• Help mitigate risks and ensure all scope and quality targets are met
• Author and maintain documentation for developed features
• Help track deliverables through JIRA
• Participate fully in team scrum ceremonies
• Effectively perform needed work breakdown of assigned tasks
• Help improve team skills with cross learning and mentorship
• Collaborate with Architecture and peers to guide and evangalize FE UI practice
• Using extensive development experience to assist in identifying (and disqualifying) tech stacks, libraries and design patterns
  
  

What You Bring

• 7+ years of software development experience, preferably in an Agile setting
• Ability to think big and build solutions that improve customer experience and propel our growth
• Deep expertise in Angular 10&11/TypeScript, SPAs, Responsive UI Design, RxJS, NgRX, HTML/CSS/SCSS, SASS, Flexbox
• Knowledge of Flutter, React and ReactNative and able to communicate the benefits of these technologies in comparison to Angular and competing technologies
• Strong communication skills with ability to build consensus with cross-functional teams
• Commitment to the ideals of software modularity and reuse
• Strong grasp on front-end security best practices and principles
• Proven experience leveraging scalable backends including microservices, API gateways, and REST APIs
• Experience with on premise and AWS cloud environments
• Desire to establish, exemplify, and adhere to corporate UI design guidelines
• Passion for pioneering new ideas and promote continuous learning
