Your role

You will report to the Manager, French Services, for Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Radio Canada Abitibi-Témiscamingue is looking for a Videojournalist in Rouyn-Noranda. For the Téléjournal, we’re looking for a skilled storyteller and shooter to fill this role. The successful candidate will also be a creative thinker who brings original ideas and treatments to our news programming and has demonstrated skills in shooting for broadcast news. Under the lineup editor you will operate independently, or as part of a program unit to research, gather, package and present material for television programs.

We Are Looking For a Candidate With The Following

• A combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from University, plus three (3) years of practical and relevant experience, or graduation from Community College, plus five (5) years of practical and relevant experience
• Comfortable and dynamic on-air presence
• Excellent interviewing skills and storyteller skills
• Ability to write clearly and concisely
• Ability to generate original story ideas and creative treatment
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, tight deadline environment, often in unexpected overtime situations
• Flexibility to work regularly for television, radio and/or the Web
• Valid driver’s license
• Relevant experience in shooting and editing
• Highly creative imaginative, problem solver and motivated self-starter
• Excellent interpersonal skills
