Responsible for managing Supply Chain (SC) operations at site level and coordinating delivery/execution of site managed Supply Chain functional services. Communicates and executes Supply Chain’s strategic sourcing vision and operating model while building strong working relationships with internal customers, vendors and the broader regional Supply Chain team.

Essential Duties
  • Workload is primarily focused on achieving consistent and effective Supply Chain delivery at site level, across all the Supply Chain functional streams, prioritized in the right areas.
  • Heavy focus on safety in terms of site warehousing Infrastructure and personnel, vendor deliveries, risk management and Fatality Risk Management along with Critical Control Verification compliance.
  • Interfaces with internal operations and maintenance customers, ensuring effective visibility of the Supply Chain vision and operating model, building and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Ensuring that Supply Chain contributes fully to achieving site objectives, key performance indicator targets, continuous improvement programs and initiatives.
  • The focal communication point for site General Manager and leadership teams on Supply Chain issues and actions.
  • Maintain material and services security of supply to site and develop plans to minimize supply disruption and inflationary pressures.
  • Communicating Supply Chain led initiatives, policies & procedures and explaining their impact at site.
  • People management of site-based Supply Chain staff. Develop the skills and abilities of direct reports through ongoing performance measurement and feedback. Provide career guidance and act as a champion and mentor for all resources in the Supply Chain organization at site.
Essential Duties ( Continued)
  • Oversight of bulks receiving & issuing and working closely with the warehouse team to optimize materials management.
  • Work with Regional Supply Chain Category Management team to develop and align on sourcing & portfolio management plans, execution timelines, resource planning, and savings targets
  • Management of the sourcing process for site-strategic contracts, including support for supplier and contract negotiations and development of business case rationale for contract approvals.
  • Supporting the overall Canada local procurement strategy, work with indigenous and local local suppliers to support ongoing local supplier and business development, performance, and capability on a sustainable basis.
  • Responsible for driving supply chain process improvements and related change management at site level; ongoing support for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the overall Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program in coordination with site operations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years of management experience – leading teams and having direct reports
  • Natural Resources experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills using office software such as MS Excel, Word, Power Point.and Visio.
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent enterprise level software packages is necessary; SAP Ariba experience also a bonus.
  • Strong materials management experience; Oniqua system experience is a bonus.
  • Bilingual in both English and French.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization and ability to prioritize work.
  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels.
Working Conditions
  • Collaboration and interaction are expected across all functions at the site as well as the Regional Supply Chain organization.
  • The position is located at Elenore mine site manager’s rotation of 8 x 6 / 4x3.
  • Position may be required to travel to other sites to share best practices and assist other sites.
