Opportunities Available:
  • Receiving/Inbound Supervisor (AM Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm)
  • Evening Shift Supervisor (PM Shift: 2:30pm – 11:00pm)
Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Supervisor, Distribution Centre, your main duty is lead and cultivate a high performing team to ensure that the day-to-day operations run safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain or exceed our Service Level Agreement (SLA) established KPI’s and lead times.

If you were the Supervisor, Distribution Centre now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • You supervise expedient daily picking and shipping of customer orders
    • You provide daily workload reports to the Distribution Centre Manager detailing shift progress, identified issues and potential solutions
    • You communicate regularly with internal and external customers to ensure goals are achieved and KPIs are met
    • You monitor product ensuring it is stocked and put-away in a timely and organized manner
    • You ensure that staff receive proper training in their assigned roles as well as cross training in other areas in order to uphold the Company’s quality and safety standards (ex. regular 5S practices, use of heavy machinery, etc.)
    • You facilitate effective and productive communications with the team, internal and external stakeholders to maximize productivity and efficiency
    • You update and ensure accurate input of shift staffs working hours into the Kronos time keeping system
    • You log inventory discrepancies and determine if an immediate fix is required, and if not assign the fix to the first shift Inventory Control team
    • You work with the DC Manager, Department and Team Leaders to drive employee engagement specifically for your shift. You are able to handle high to complex day to day operational and technical issues, including employee relations and disciplinary actions.
    • Ability to provide valuable inputs on machine and equipment deficiencies and identifying the root of the problem for better productivity and efficiencies.
    • You perform other duties and special projects as assigned, including but not limited to process improvement, health and safety, employee experience/engagement

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

    • Cross trained to in all areas of DC operations
    • Be the voice for your shift, providing valuable inputs and suggestions on work priorities and addressing common issues.
    • Build an effective and strong partnership with P&C, ensuring all employee relations issues regarding your shift are well taken care of and addressed accordingly.
    • Be the champion in identifying and grooming potential A star team members within your shift.
    • Proficiency and understanding of the systems and equipment used within DC and the integration across all functions throughout various shifts.

Are you our next Supervisor, Distribution Centre?

    • You have a Post-Secondary education in Operations, Inventory control, Finance or similar field
    • You have education or 3+ years of previous experience in Warehouse Management Systems
    • You have experience in process improvement projects and leadership experience in managing at least 2 direct reports.
    • You have excellent English communication skills verbally and in writing and the ability and tact to effectively engage multiple stakeholders with competing interests in a global environment
    • You possess a valid forklift license and have 3+ years of experience operating warehouse equipment (forklift, order pickers, etc.)
    • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
    • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
    • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
    • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
    • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
