This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Access and Flow, Northern Zone, the Supervisor is responsible for the access and flow of patients to the appropriate care areas and leading work associated with the discharge of complex clients. The Supervisor also provides management support and clinical decision-making support when managers are not on site. Working collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and continuing care providers, the Supervisor will apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges to achieve the ultimate goal of high quality, safe, and cost effective services to better support patient flow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in relevant health field; nursing degree preferred
  • 5 years experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in a health care setting. Previous nursing experience preferred.
  • Two (2) – Three (3) years’ experience in supervisory, leadership and/or management preferred.
  • Current registration with professional body
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Workload Measurement System, MIS, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support.
  • Understanding and commitment to the LEADS performance development framework
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • This position may require travel to various locations and as such access to transportation is required.

Hours of Work

Permanent Full Time Position; 75 hours biweekly

Salary Information

$34.75 - $46.18 hourly
