Responsibilities

The Staffing Clerk reports to the Western Zone Patient Flow Manager and is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing is available for Nursing Units in collaboration with Nurse Managers and Shift Coordinators/delegate.

The duties of the Staffing Clerk will be carried out in accordance with the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Duties Include
  • Prepare schedules for nursing units as per collective agreements, processing time off requests, filling all deficits and communicate changes as appropriate;
  • Maintain updated staff availability information;
  • Prepare daily staffing data report, appropriate database and timesheets; and
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a recognized office administration program is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an administrative position
  • Previous experience in scheduling/staffing
  • Previous experience applying collective agreements
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows and all components of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to develop and maintain documents, spreadsheets and databases
  • Demonstrated accountability

Hours of Work

Long assignment fulltime position; 70 hours bi-weekly.

Salary Information

$21.80 - $24.39 hourly
