Solar Construction Labourer

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Solar Construction Labourer is responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to the construction of solar arrays. This position will support MiEnergy’s Vision, Mission and Core Values in all functions.

Priorities:

· Ensure customers service expectations are exceeded in every function

· Employ world class craftsmanship at all times

· Maximize company value through continual improvement

· Function at a high level, delivering powerful value to miEnergy and our customers

· Ensure company policy, procedures and safety regulations are followed at all times

Responsibilities:

· Organize and clean site, site office, and organize shipping materials and containers

· Assist in implementing LEAN practices and procedures

· Receive and coordinate daily shipments and deliveries

· Help equipment operators, installation team, and other skilled labor with various tasks.

· Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.

· Follow instructions from supervisors.

· Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.

Skills & Competencies:

· Communication: Must always employ professional verbal and written communication

· Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.

· Attention to Detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

· Self Control: Job requires maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.

· Organization: Job requires masterful organization and the ability to keep department in an orderly state.

Requirements:

· Valid class 5 driver’s licence

· Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks. The ability to easily and frequently lift up to 50 pounds is an absolute requirement.

· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Workers must be punctual and reliable.

· Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.

· Proficiency with technology

· In possession of a smartphone

· Able to work in a noisy environment

· Committed to safe work practices

· Must be able to create and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members
