Developers will use their expertise and knowledge of the industry practices to perform various development tasks such as coding, app development and web development. Developers must be technically savvy with a flair for creativity and innovation. They need to be able to work in high-pressure environments and adhere to strict deadlines. Being a team player and having excellent communication skills also are important. The ideal candidate will demonstrate friendly and professional interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, highly organized, and above all passionate about everything to do with the web. We are looking for a learning individual, not afraid of working in a fast-work environment.

Accountabilities

Increases Efficiencies in the Digital Department and William Joseph

• Passionately follows the latest technology with a keen eye for social media trends and emerging platforms
• Generates technical and planning documentation
• Ability to strongly contribute to a team atmosphere, while drawing from their individual experience and skills
• Ability to work efficiently to adhere to project deadlines
• Capable of creating high quality and well-tested code in a fast-paced agency environment
• Hand-coding websites using web technologies that include HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript
• Build websites that validate in both HTML and CSS according to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards
• Performs front-end development tasks with HTML, CSS, jQuery and AngularJS.
• Performs back-end development tasks with PHP and MySQL
• Slices and manipulates Photoshop documents and other art assets for development use as needed
• Assist in QA as needed/ & able, across all projects
• Is aware of and designs/codes to minimize cross-browser/platform rendering issues
• Employs SEO best practices with all development efforts
• Writes w3 validated code and adheres to defined web standards
• Cognizant of accessibility issues and actively designs content with standards in mind
• Cross-browser and cross-platform testing
• Constructs rich, multi-part marketing emails
• Documenting code
• Responsible to ensure standards are maintained
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments

• Delivering client training in written documentation and in person
• Consulting and providing recommendations where appropriate to enhance functionality of client projects

• Supports other team members in a fast-paced, controlled chaotic environment, often working long hours and occasionally evenings or weekends to meet deadlines

Qualifications

• A post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or web design certification
• At least 8 years of professional development experience
• Familiarity with bash and LAMP stacks
• Depth knowledge in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
• Experience in PHP and MySQL
• Existing experience with frameworks & CMSs such as Laravel, Symphony, WordPress, Drupal, Shopify
• Experience with Amazon AWS and/or Google Cloud Computing
• Excellent working knowledge of cross-platform browser support
• Prior agency or production house experience a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator with the ability to convert designs into interactive media is a plus
• Experience building dynamic ads is a plus
• Experience managing projects with source control
• Experience with database technologies, particularly MySQL
• Experience with database creation and maintenance
• Experience with developing mobile optimized websites and apps
• Is willing to take a programming aptitude test as part of the interview process
