Rockport is seeking a Senior Product Engineer who can leverage their experience to make our next generation electronic, optical, and photonics networking products even better! As a technical leader within Rockport’s Operations team, you will lead the implementation of innovative new products into volume manufacturing, develop new manufacturing methods, spearhead DFx initiatives, advance our engineering infrastructure, and drive root cause analysis of NPI failures to ensure the highest product quality and reliability.

What You Will Do
  • Lead new product launches into manufacturing, from initial prototypes through to volume production.
  • Ensuring assembly, test and inspection processes are defined, implemented, optimized, and well documented
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering during the NPI phase to leverage supply chain partners, and establish the manufacturing capabilities which meet target yields, costs, and quality
  • Be the technical authority for products released to manufacturing, responsible for engineering changes and product lifecycle management
  • Provide engineering support for 3rd party contract manufacturing
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and yield improvement programs
What You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience working with electronics and optical contract manufacturers leading new products into (NPI) manufacturing, and supporting volume production
  • Hands-on experience testing and debugging complex digital and optical circuit designs
  • Extensive knowledge of industry accepted manufacturing, quality, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Knowledge of test, burn-in, and qualification standards for data center networking products
  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Must be eligible for government security clearance
