Position purpose:
Under the direction of the Manager, Supply Chain, the candidate is responsible for the for defining and executing the strategy to extract and category the University’s annual spend data with external service providers. The successful candidate is equally responsible for ensuring effective relationships are maintained with internal and external contacts to facilitate the oversight and coordination of logistics. They will also conduct and oversee market research and the validation and management of information on existing suppliers and potential suppliers to the University to support the management of client relations and the purchase quality services and goods.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Develops and maintains effective relationships with external and internal contacts in all areas related to the duties of this position

Performs research and verification on product and service suppliers to validate the integrity, quality and capacity of the pool of existing and potential future suppliers.

Develops and implements effective records management to preserve quality of the records and to ensure that complete and accurate documentation is available for future reference or audit purposes. Develops and implements related tools and procedures as necessary.

Coordinate special projects such as auditing visits, other events or information sessions by collecting, sorting and prioritize contract data to categorize and analyse the information gathered.

What you will bring:
University undergraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of procurement principles and best practices.
Knowledge of market and company research tools (e.g. Dun & Bradstreet).
Knowledge and experience of purchasing, billing, payment and related document management processes.
Knowledge and understanding of the workflow of transactions in a procurement services office.
Excellent ability to analyse opportunities and limitations of procurement and vendor management systems.
Demonstrated capacity to understand complex business transactions and contracts.
Organization and planning skills.
Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
Adaptability, flexibility and an ability to effectively work in a team environment.
Attentive to detail with focus on organization and quality of work.
Experience using business software (e.g. Microsoft Office, etc.)

Bilingualism - French and English (written and spoken)
