Position Summary
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Reporting to the Manager of Pediatric Critical Care, the Respiratory Therapy Aide is an integral member of the Respiratory Therapy Team. The role of the Respiratory Therapy Aide is to support best patient care practices by ensuring Respiratory Therapy equipment and supplies have met infection control standards and guidelines.
- Disassembly and reprocessing of respiratory equipment in accordance with approved guidelines.
- Cleaning and re-circuiting of all ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
- Monitor inventory of all consumable respiratory supplies and reorder as necessary
- Ensure work and supply areas are clean and tidy.
- Ensure units are stocked with respiratory supplies.
- Completes quality control initiatives as required.
- Participates in orientation of new staff and students as required.
- Other related duties as directed.
Rotating shifts, Monday – Friday (7.5 hour shifts)
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Previous Respiratory Therapy or Anesthesia Aide experience considered an asset.
- Experience with SAP requisitioning required.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer skills
- CSPD experience an asset.
- Commitment to Family Centered Care.
- Knowledge of Health Centre Emergency Preparedness Protocols
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work effectively.
- Demonstrated flexibility.
- Competency in other languages considered an asset; French preferred.
