PSPNET – Families is working on developing and evaluating a suite of evidence-based and trauma-informed mental health promotion resources and supports for families of public safety personnel (PS); including a primary prevention resource (PSP Families 101), a secondary prevention resource (PSP Intimate Relations Resource) and a tertiary prevention resource (a self-guided internet-delivered cognitive behavioural wellbeing course for spouses/partners of PSP). The positions will be part of the PSPNET Families team which is a new team co-led by Drs. Heidi Cramm, Nathalie Reid, Heather Hadjistavropoulos.

These specific positions involve working on primary, secondary, or tertiary prevention resources under the supervision of Dr. Hadjistavropoulos or Dr. Nathalie Reid.

The individual(s) will participate in any of these following activities:

a) Analyze data from interviews and tailor materials. Help setup and test new materials on the PSPNET website and application. Conduct interviews with PSP family members. Data analysis and reporting.

b) Participate in data collection, synthesis, and translation activities. They will support all of the work of the project including working groups, creation of materials, working alongside instructional designers, and other related responsibilities.

Supervision and training will be provided through this position.
Position Requirements
The skills associated with this position includes:
a) Preference will be given to a candidate who has completed at minimum a Bachelor Honors in Psychology or Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Education, or Bachelor of Social Work, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
b) Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
c) Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team.
d) Must be able to work independently.
e) Must have strong organizational and time management skills
f) Must have knowledge of trauma, trauma-informed practices, and mental health
g) Advanced computer skills preferred (e.g., Word, Excel, web page management, social media).
h) Experience with SPSS, reference management
i) Experience with qualitative or quantitative analysis preferred
j) Experience with dissemination of research (e.g., presentations, preparation of manuscripts) an asset.
k) Experience with recruitment of participants and data collection within the area of mental health an asset.
l) Experience in curriculum design is considered a strong asset
m) Experience in instructional design is considered a strong asset.
Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Other Salary Range $45,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications Status Term Work Hours
This position will be full-time (Monday to Friday), 40 hours a week from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 with the possibility of extension depending on funds.
