Hanson Canada is an educational institution that delivers secondary, post-secondary and language training programs to international students. There are four campuses located in Toronto (Eglinton), Toronto (North York) and Brampton, Ontario and New Westminster, BC. Hanson is looking for a Registration Officer to work at our New Westminster Campus.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Following the direction and oversight for the strategic goals and objectives of the Office of the Registrar
  • Ensuring students files are accurate and up to date
  • Assisting with archiving student records (e.g. Datawitness) and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Supporting the registration, deregistration, withdrawal, dismissal, and graduation processes for students each intake
  • Assisting with communications to new students, including informing them of registration and payment procedures
  • Creating, distributing, and collecting registration documents (e.g., contracts and waivers) from students
  • Creating and distributing student transcripts upon request
  • Maintaining data tracking systems regarding, but not limited to, course registration and deregistration, payments, study permits, and contact information
  • Taking in-person student payments and processing online payments
  • Communicating effectively with the Admissions Department, Academic Department, and Finance Department to resolve discrepancies regarding student information, registration status, student files, academic issues, payment history, etc.
  • Cooperating with the Finance Department to resolve outstanding payments, process wire transfers, direct deposits, online payments, refund requests, and ensure students’ payment history is accurate
  • Communicating with students regularly regarding registration requirements, deadlines, discrepancies, and other relevant information
  • Supporting the Registrar in setting up CampusLogin, the Hanson app, and the other systems to facilitate finance and registration processes
  • Providing support to the Student Services Department during Orientation and convocation
  • Providing input and assisting with developing processes and procedures to improve departmental efficiencies
  • Providing additional supports as requested by the Registrar


Qualifications:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Highly detailed oriented with a critical degree of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize work and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to take responsibility, to work well as a team member and to work independently
  • Intermediate level of skill for Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point

Education/Experience Requirements:


  • Minimum 1 year of experience in education and education administrative environment or relevant experience is an asset
  • Experience in working with international students is preferred
  • Completed degree or diploma
