Your Opportunity:Red Deer & surrounding area has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about providing comprehensive and trauma-informed Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education, clinical and harm reduction services to diverse populations. In this position, you will work collaboratively with a team of nurses and physicians to deliver clinical services that provide contraceptives and information, STI testing and treatment, HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, cervical screening, pregnancy testing & options support, care after a sexual assault, counselling on healthy relationships & sexual decision making. Your activities include: obtaining SRH histories; assessing SRH needs; providing comprehensive sexual & reproductive health information; conducting screening tests; lab management, counselling clients of abnormal test results, providing medications & referring clients for additional support. To be successful in this role you will be able to multi-task throughout high volume clinics. As an SRH RN Educator, you will work collaboratively with a SRH Education team that delivers comprehensive sexuality education programs to a variety of school, community and professional groups. Session topics can include contraception, STBBIs, healthy relationships, growth and development, sexual orientation and gender diversity to name a few. Through education you will build capacity with communities to gain the knowledge, skills and comfort to talk openly about sexuality. Your sound knowledge of teaching and learning theories and comfort with a variety of teaching platforms (including virtual), will assist with successful knowledge translation and skill development. You will provide resource and project support to the Education team, monitor trends, interpret data, review literature and collaborate with stakeholders.Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:Three years’ within the last five years’ Public Health Nursing experience. Training or work experience in the area of sexual health. Education or Experience using computers and & use of various online platforms including but not limited to Zoom, Microsoft teams, Outlook, and Google docs and Slides. Experience of group facilitation/teaching with youth and young adults.
