We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for high risk newborn and family-centered care to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

BUILD ON YOUR CAREER EXPERIENCE BY:

- Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments of newborns

- Attending and assisting in high risk deliveries

- Providing education to parents, families, and caregivers with a focus on health promotion regarding newborn care, safety, growth and development, and parenting

- Collaborating with members of the inter-professional care team

- Utilizing your specialty experience, technical skill and training managing and advocating for complex patients

- Acting as a preceptor or mentor to guide the clinical experience and support learning for new nursing staff and students while promoting the philosophy of family centered care, sharing information, demonstrating care activities, and participating in orientation.

YOUR BACKGROUND INCLUDES:

- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing

- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

- Recent one (1) year experience in neonatal tertiary unit

- Completion of a post basic Neonatal Nursing Program

- Current Certification in Basic Rescuer (Level C) Certificate

- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certificate

This role is a relief part-time position located at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) in New Westminster, BC.

RCH is a provincial referral hospital (tertiary/trauma care centre) with 422 acute beds that is University of BC Affiliated. RCH is located ½ hour from downtown Vancouver, and close to rapid transit, shopping, restaurants and other amenities.

The city of New Westminster, is located on a hillside overlooking the Fraser River, is the oldest incorporated city in BC, was once the provincial capital, and remains an urban hub of the Lower Mainland. The Royal City, as it is still known, began as a pioneer settlement and evolved into a stately Victorian city, and today remains graced with many grand Victorian and Edwardian heritage buildings that you can visit.
