Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment & Marketing, the primary responsibility of this position is to recruit prospective students to the University of Regina. This position works with campus partners, high schools, post-secondary coordinators and other members of the Student Recruitment team to encourage prospective students and their families to apply to the University of Regina. They will travel to Alberta, Manitoba, and regions in SK and the United States to give presentations, attend recruitment fairs, and build relationships with guidance counsellors, teachers, students, and parents. In addition, they will be the lead on planning many events, will coordinate the campus tour and enrolment counselling program, and make recommendations to the manager regarding new recruitment strategies.
Typical Duties:
  • Travel to events in and out of province to promote the University of Regina and recruit students to the University of Regina through a broad range of activities including in-school presentations, education and career fairs, SUTIL (Saskatchewan Universities and Technical Institute Liaison) events, school/community events, advising sessions with students and parents, counsellor workshops and other prospective student events
  • Responsible for all aspects of event planning and execution including managing budgets; assigning tasks and managing their completion; booking venues, equipment, and catering; coordinating participants; scheduling sessions, entertainment, and keynote speakers; and managing registrations
  • Coordinate campus tours and enrolment counselling bookings, including writing the campus tour guide, training recruitment ambassadors to lead tours, ensuring the booking process is efficient, trouble-shooting issues, and improving the program
  • Supervise casual student staff and volunteers
  • Research recruitment strategies and make recommendations to the manager regarding new strategies
  • Assist the manager in compiling reports that will aid recruitment planning and contribute to the creation of the annual recruitment plan
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of two years related experience, preferably in a university environment
  • Strong knowledge of the U of R including all of the program offerings, admission requirements, student awards and financial aid options, University policies, and student supports
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs/wants/drives of the U of R’s target markets and its competitors
  • Experience making formal presentations
  • Ability to resolve complex problems using analytical skills, reasoning, and research
  • Demonstrated advising skills
  • Demonstrated ability to set, direct, and achieve goals in alignment with an overall strategic mission
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a student-centered environment
  • Demonstrated experience communicating in a cross-culturally sensitive manner
  • Knowledge of Banner Student Module and related reports (or similar experience working with complex databases and reporting)
  • Experience working with a CRM is an asset

The successful candidate will also possess:
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity and asset
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Experience with conflict resolution and making independent discretionary decisions
  • Experience working with multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to coordinate a team, motivate, and lead others
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with sensitive information
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with and understanding of the Freedom of Information and the Protection of Privacy Act
Physical Demands
Seated at a computer for 2-3 hours at a time.
Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $62,909 - $84,893 Annually Status Permanent Work Hours
8:15 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Evening and weekend work will be required.
