Genesis Robotics & Motion Technologies – Gear Quality Inspection Technician

We are searching for a Gear Quality Inspection Technician to help ensure the quality of our gears and gearboxes. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the components we receive from our suppliers, and the products that we ship to our customers, meet our high-level quality requirements.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Perform incoming inspections of components from our suppliers per inspection instructions, including:
  • Gear quality inspection using our Gleason GMM gear inspection system
  • Dimensional inspection using our CMM and gear measurement machine, along with using common handheld inspection instruments
  • Visual inspection Review of material certificates to ensure conformance to design requirements for raw materials
  • Perform in-process dimensional inspection of components from our in-house machine shop
  • Keep orderly records of all inspections
  • Clearly communicate results of inspections to Supplier Quality Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Design Engineers
  • Create NCRs (non-conformance reports) when parts are found to be out of specification

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing organization
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings utilizing GD&T
  • Care and attention to detail when handling extremely small inspection probes

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience measuring gears, especially beveloid gear designs
  • Understanding of gear quality requirements
  • An ability to help trouble shoot machining/gear cutting issues based on the GMM results
  • GMM operations or programming experience
  • CMM operation and programming Experience
