The Role

Under the supervision of the team leader, your main responsibilities will be to carry out the programming of our public safety products, while respecting the priorities and deadlines defined by the product manager.

More specifically, you will have to identify, collect, and analyze information on the needs of end-users in terms of information processing while coding, in a structured manner, operational and efficient programs. In addition, our new programmer will perform various tasks related to the creation, correction, and testing of programs using programming languages always with the goal of meeting user needs.

What You’ll Bring

• Computer science degree, diploma, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of work experience within a software development organization
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; French is an asset
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Some Key Competencies

• Proven experience with REACT (functional components)
• Knowledge of the Storybook user interface design system
• Up-to-date knowledge of HTML5 and CSS
• Knowledge of standard Javascript and ES6 = knowledge of the async/await programming method
• Experience with Node.js
• Previous experience with unit testing with Jest, Mocha, and the Node.JS assertion library (an asset)
• Proven ability to use GIT
• Ability to use JIRA
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
• Knowledge of web audio api and audio and video tags (an asset).
