The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Production Supervisor to join our growing leadership team at AGI – Swift Current, a division of AGI. In this role you will pride yourself on being a hands-on supervisor with an open-door policy. You are noted for treating your team as family and getting to know what motivates them to succeed. You will be a motivated go getter who has a track record of developing strong teams.

The Team

We are currently a dynamic team of 20 from varied backgrounds. We collaborate closely with other Production Supervisors as well as the entire AGI Swift Current Leadership Team. The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will supervise the Fabrication team to ensure that all products are correct and prepared for the next step in the manufacturing process and will require the following but not limited to:

• Supervision of team members
• Managing team members timecard use, including attendance, vacation time and overtime
• Assisting with the selection and orientation of new team members
• Ensuring training and development of team members takes place
• Conducting performance reviews of team members
• Cooperating with all areas within the company to ensure overall company goals are met
• Implementing cost-effective procedures and process improvements
• Ensuring compliance with all safety legislation and procedures
• Conducting team meetings as required
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in Manufacturing, Agriculture, Mechanical or Industrial industries
• Innovative, ability to identify and implement new processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the team and project.
• Developed communication skills, written/oral.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Developed decision making skills
• Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc.
• Proficient in working with computers and various software applications.
