POSITION SCOPE

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the safe, efficient, and effective operations of the malting and grain handling processes at the Montreal plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership to plant production, shipping, and grain handling operations in conjunction with other production staff.
  • Establish operational priorities and schedules for manufacturing products and grain handling processes in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate processing/shipping activities to meet customer requirements.
  • Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Ensure adherence to best in class manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • Manage environmental and safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations best in class safety performance.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling production employees to meet production plan goals.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, applicable laws, and health and safety requirements.
  • Effective people management, including organizing and scheduling tasks.
  • Assist with attracting, selecting, training, and retaining talent.
  • Work with Human Resources to assist with labour relations.
  • Maintain health and safety training program.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Brewing or agriculture education an asset.
  • Related grain, agriculture, malting, or brewing experience is considered an asset.
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of and commitment to general safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCP.
  • Experience with labour relations is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the handling and management of railcars is considered an asset.
