Pacific Process Group is a multi-disciplined Professional Services Group delivering business and technical solutions across multiple jurisdictions within the dairy and food industry. We are a highly skilled team of committed individuals performing a variety of specialised capital works projects throughout Australasia, North America and Canada.

Due to a new project, an opportunity exists within our organization for a Site Construction Manager in Alberta, Canada, for the minimum duration of 18-24 months and with more opportunities going forward.

Pacific Process Group are looking for an experienced Onsite Project Manager to provide onsite management of projects from planning to completion, including tasks such as budgeting and scheduling. They are to enforce the company quality standards and ensure the safety and security of the construction site. We are looking for a well-versed professional in all construction methodologies and procedures who is able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.

The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Site Construction Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with engineers, architects etc to determine the specifications of the project
  • Onsite Management of the Construction Contractor and Installation Contractors to meet project schedule, specifications and budget
  • Oversight on site safety, project permitting, equipment procurement and delivery, process and utilities installation and process commissioning activities
  • Work closely with the Project Group to understand and track project milestones and expectations
  • Work with Construction Contractor to plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Confirm delivery of equipment and materials to specification and organize availability for installation
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
  • Supervise the work of installers, subcontractors etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress, conduct meetings and prepare detailed reports on project progress
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety and quality standards and report issues

Construction Manager Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience in project management for process and utilities installation in a construction environment
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and local health and safety standards
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • Analytical mind

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field
  • Project management certification will be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with CAD software
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
