Lifting Equipment Field Inspector

Description:RGA Engineering Ltd. Provides inspection and engineering consulting services based in Whitehorse, YT. This is an entry level position. The successful candidate will be responsible for field inspection of lifting equipment, including cranes, forklifts, bucket lifts etc. in the Whitehorse area with some travel to remote job sites in Yukon. Applicants with welding inspection certification, magnetic particle or dye penetrant certifications and/or over 2 years relevant work experience will be given preference.

Start/finish date:Start as soon as possible to December 23, 2021

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional weekends/evenings required (overtime).

Responsibilities:

• Visual inspection of lifting equipment

• Non-destructive testing of lifting equipment (magnetic particle inspection and dye penetrant) under supervision

• completion of technical reports

• communication with supervising inspector/engineer regarding inspection results.

• Acting as the face of the business when interacting with customers

• Travel to field sites around Whitehorse and occasional travel to rural communities/work sites

Qualifications:

• High school graduation certificate

• Minimum 1 year work experience as inspector or NDT technician

• class 5 driver’s license

• clean drivers abstract

• willingness to use personal vehicle for travel within 30km of main work site (mileage reimbursed)
